Kristine Pringle Blog     About Kris
Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. Go Penn State! So, as Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places we love. To our super cool clients, Scott and I are truly honored that you chose us to capture your memories. We hope that you enjoy the sneak peek of your photos. To our prospective clients, hopefully this will give you a little taste of what it’s like to work with us, and the kind of images you can expect. Thanks for stopping by! ~Kristine **PS - to view exclusively weddings, engagement sessions, or lifestyle photography, use the "categories" link above.

A Day at the Park with Ava and Jacob
07.02.09

Jeni lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and their two adorable children, Ava and Jacob. She was referred to me by one of her coworkers who I did pictures for last year, and she decided she wanted to make a day trip to PA to get photos of the kids. This isn't the first time I've had clients travel 2+ hours for pictures (which by the way is the biggest compliment and I am so flattered!), but it's the first time I've had a Mom do it by herself with two little ones in the backseat. So that definitely added a little pressure. Thankfully the shoot couldn't have gone better, and I am so excited for Jeni and her husband to see this little sneak peek.

Meet beautiful 3-year old Ava...

And her darling little brother, Jacob, who is 2.

I could look at this picture all day. These two really love each other.

And they LOVE the swings! Jeni completely rocks for helping me get this shot. She would give them both a big push to get them going at the exact same time and then run really fast over by my camera.

I got a bunch of Jacob actually on the swing, but this one was too cute not to blog.

Jeni and I were thinking of what could possibly top the swings...

Ahhh, the big tunnel slide! It was a definite hit!

Finding sticks was high on the list too. Love it!

Yep, they definitely had a good time. I adore this one of Jacob laughing.

And this one of Ava laughing, wow! What a beauty! She has the most gorgeous smile and eyes.

Almost 2 hours into the shoot, Ava was still giving out the smiles. I remember her sitting down really quickly and saying this one was for her Daddy.

Jacob was still smiling too, especially when Jeni and I sang him the "Sponge Bob Square Pants" song.

But by far the biggest hit of the day was the lollipops they got at the very end of the shoot. Jeni, I can't wait for you to see the whole series of lollipop shots I got, along with all the rest of the pictures too! Thank you so much again for traveling to meet me in PA. I had a blast and I hope you and the kids did too! Hugs! ~Kris

Jen and Shane's Wedding
06.29.09

On Saturday June 13th, Scott and I photographed Jen and Shane's beautiful and fun wedding. The ceremony was held in Selinsgrove at Wesley United Methodist Church, and a big reception followed at Front Street Station in Northumberland. We couldn't have asked for better weather, or a more fun couple and wedding party! It was such a perfect day!

A perfect day, with another gorgeous Pringle Photography bride, as per usual. :-)

I loved all the different ways Jen incorporated her grandparents into the day. More to follow...

A quick glimpse into the ceremony. I love this moment as Jen put the ring on Shane's finger.

The first time a couple is introduced as the new Mr. and Mrs. is often one of my favorite photos of the day. Jen and Shane are totally glowing with happiness.

After the ceremony, we did a bunch of portraits at Susquehanna University. We had sweet light.

And a really fun wedding party who I could have taken pictures of all day. Jen and Shane, your friends rock!

They had an awesome Escalade to transport everyone to the reception, and we were loving the reflections we were getting.

To the groomsman who quickly stuck his hand out the window, thank you!!! It makes this reflection shot that much more perfect! I love it!

The grand entrance into Front Street Station. Jen and Shane were ready to party!

Front Street is such a cool place for a reception. The wedding party ate dinner and toasted in one of the railroad cars...

Which you can see in the background of this shot. Their cake was amazing!

And they were very sweet when feeding each other.

After the cake cutting, we went outside for some quick shots on the railroad tracks -- because you can't have a reception at Front Street without some railroad images!

Love it -- these two definitely knew how to have fun in front of the camera!

Once back inside, Jen presented a bouquet to her grandma, and then sat with her for a special song. So so sweet!

And then Jen and Shane shared their first dance.

I love this one of the newlyweds -- and I just adore those little girls in the background!!! The kids couldn't wait to dance themselves!

Speaking of, the kids are always the first ones out on the dance floor!

But it usually doesn't take long for the adults to get out there and get their groove on.

The dance floor was packed, and the lights on the ceiling were just screaming for some of Scott's "zoomer" shots. I love all the motion in these!

Jen and Shane, we had a blast photographing your wedding and we're so happy for you! Thank you so much for asking us to be there, and for being so easy and fun to work with! Hugs! ~Kristine & Scott

Backyard Fun with Tyler and Arden
06.23.09

I recently had the chance to photograph the cutest family -- parents Erika and Rob, and their adorable little ones, Tyler and Arden. Erika and Rob were referred to me by their neighbors (thanks Addy & Mike!), and I had the chance to meet their whole family a few weeks ago when they attended my first Parents' Photography Workshop. I had a great time giving them camera pointers and teaching them some basic concepts about light and composition, and afterwards I was so excited when they emailed me to book a session. The shoot couldn't have gone better -- their little ones are absolutely precious and I think they had a lot of fun!

Meet gorgeous 2-year old Tyler. I was working (acting silly) to make sure I got those great natural smiles out of him.

And this is his beautiful baby sister, Arden, who is 14 months. She is quite the camera ham -- so so sweet!

These kids have the most amazing eyes.

Seriously, wow! How I love natural light!

After I got a few portraits, I had fun chasing them around and letting them run towards my camera. For only 2-years old, Tyler did a great job making eye contact with my camera!

Is this not the cutest thing ever?!?! There is a whole series of Arden that I love, but I picked this one because of the wind in her hair.

Then it was time for some sand box fun. I love this candid.

Tyler grabbed the shovel...

And Arden was covered. Such a great real moment.

I think the swings were their favorite activity of all. I love this family shot, especially because the kids are looking at each other. Oh, and soon their family will be getting a new addition. You'd never know from this picture (Erika is all baby!), but they are expecting another girl in just a few weeks!

Then Tyler and Arden surprised us by sitting in this chair together -- all on their own! You can't really force a 2-year old and a 1-year old to "pose" together, so we were all really happy that they gave us this great photo op.

During a quick break inside, I photographed the new baby's nursery. I had to post this...one because it is beautiful, and two because I am so impressed with Erika's stenciling skills. She couldn't find a template she liked, so she cut letters out from Word and used them to make it look freehand. You go girl!

The very end of the shoot. It wasn't really bedtime, but Erika and Rob wanted to document their kids in their PJs with their favorite stuffed animals. Tyler loves his little ducky, which according to Erika is usually found in his mouth, exactly like this.

And Arden loves her little frog. When handed to her, she usually sucks her thumb on command. This is exactly the moment they wanted to capture, and I'm so glad I could do that for them. Erika and Rob, thank you so much for asking me to do a session for your family, and I can't wait to hear the news of the arrival of your new baby girl! Congratulations! ~Kris

Erika   |   06.23.09   |   You are amazing! The pictures are awesome! We take A LOT of pictures of our kids and never capture anything as great as this. I don't know how you do it! Thanks so much.
Amanda   |   06.23.09   |   Wow! I love the light reflecting in their eyes on those two. And the frog with the thumb in the mouth is totally precious! Great job Krissy.
Erika's mom   |   06.23.09   |   These are just sensational! What a great eye you have as a photographer. You captured the "real" Tyler and Arden in their expressions. They look so natural and I love each shot.

Natalie & Dave's Wedding
06.16.09

On Friday June 5th, Scott and I photographed Natalie and Dave's gorgeous Spyglass Winery wedding. The day started out with some rain, but luck was on our side, because the rain cleared out after the ceremony, so we were able to do outdoor pictures as planned. Natalie and Dave are still in London on their honeymoon (lucky!), but they told me they would have Internet access, so hopefully they'll be able to check this before they return home.

While Natalie was getting her hair and makeup done, I took a few pictures of her amazing dress -- and what a perfect spot for it to be hanging!

Natalie has the most beautiful blue eyes. I love this shot.

And this one of all the girls around the bride.

Totally totally stunning. You'd never know it was raining outside....we were under a covered deck.

Onto the ceremony. I loved how Natalie's cathedral length veil looked coming down the aisle.

Scott did some shooting from the side...

And as always, I had center aisle.

Woohoo! Dave was checking the doppler, and the rain had moved out!

So that meant lots of outdoor pictures at Spyglass. Their wedding party was a blast!

Love it! The scenery is awesome there.

And of course we had to use Natalie's veil for a romantic shot.

The first dance. The woman in the black dress behind them is Natalie's Mom.

A great moment taken at high ISO -- so fun!

There were some really funny toasts.

I absolutely love Dave's laugh in this one!

The dance floor was packed all night. The girls definitely had a good time...

And so did the guys!

And the newlyweds, well, they were dancing machines! They were together on the dance floor most of the night, which made us really happy.

This is one of my favorites. The moment is priceless, but it's even better because those are Dave's parents to the left. I love when I can intentionally shoot to include friends and family in the background.

Natalie and Dave, thank you so much for asking us to be there to document your day! We had a fantastic time! You and your families and friends are all so wonderful! We hope you are having an awesome honeymoon in London, and that you can see this before you return home! Talk soon! Hugs! ~Kris & Scott

Tara & Chad's Engagement
06.12.09

I recently photographed Tara and Chad's engagement session at Penn State, and it was definitely a happy day in Happy Valley. We are seriously blessed with the cutest, nicest, most photogenic couples ever -- I don't know how we get so lucky!

Tara was a Penn State cheerleader for 4 years, and she met Chad, who worked in radio, while doing an interview. She was only supposed to be there for 10 minutes, but Chad didn't let her sneak away so easily. How awesome that what was supposed to be 10 minutes will soon be a lifetime together!

Tara and Chad are planning a beautiful tented wedding for next June at the Priestley Savidge House in Northumberland. It will be our first time shooting there, and we are so excited!

You can't do a shoot at Penn State without sitting on the Lion.

We then found a good spot in front of the Nittany Lion Inn, so we did a few portraits there.
