Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. Go Penn State! So, as Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places we love. To our super cool clients, Scott and I are truly honored that you chose us to capture your memories. We hope that you enjoy the sneak peek of your photos. To our prospective clients, hopefully this will give you a little taste of what it’s like to work with us, and the kind of images you can expect. Thanks for stopping by! ~Kristine **PS - to view exclusively weddings, engagement sessions, or lifestyle photography, use the "categories" link above.

Rachel and Peter's Winery Engagement Session
08.30.10

Last weekend I met up with a sorority sister from college and her fiance for an awesome engagement session at a winery. Rachel and Peter have been together for 5 years now, and they are getting ready to tie the knot in April in Charlotte, North Carolina. I will also be photographing their wedding day (it's going to be ahhh-mazing!!!), but in anticipation of that, they scheduled an engagement shoot so that they could have "good pictures wearing normal clothes". :-) They are also planning to use these for their save-the-dates, and I can't wait to see what they come up with!
This was a really special shoot, one because it was for a friend, and two, because it occurred at the exact location that Rachel and Peter got engaged -- Round Peak Winery. Peter was looking for a really good place to propose, and when he came across Round Peak, he knew it would be perfect. It's on their way to Blacksburg, so they can always stop in on their way to a Hokie football game (and for the record, Peter is a Carolina fan, but he also cheers for the Hokies along with his wife-to-be, right Peter?), AND....the initials of the winery are RP. Even the corks say RP -- as much for Round Peak as for Rachel and Peter! Too cool. Good job Peter.
Anyway, I could go on and on about how much fun we had, and how the weather was perfect and we had great light, but I will let the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy!
Before Rach and Peter arrived, I started with a few photos of the winery itself. Ken and his wife (the owners) were so sweet and helpful, and they let us roam around where ever we wanted to get the perfect shots.
Rachel and Peter arrived looking reallllly good, so we went to the exact spot where Peter proposed marriage - the gazebo overlooking the vineyard.
It's not very often that I do an engagement session at the EXACT spot in which a couple got engaged (this is only the 2nd time I think?), so of course we had to re-enact it a little.
I shot from far away as they relived that moment when Peter asked....
And Rachel said YES. So so sweet.
Love this. Rachel has some serious bling.
The cute couple.
Behind every good man is a good woman. Rach, you are beautiful!
Next, a quick break for an outfit change and another winery detail shot. I love these kind of images - they really complete a story in an album and provide a sort of narration without needing words.
One of my favorites of the day. Indoors among all the wine barrels.
Then it was out to the vineyard. I told Rachel and Peter I was getting some artistic shots of grapes and other details so they could hang them in their kitchen and/or dining room. Fun!
But back to Rachel and Peter. We started in the vineyard with some smiles...
...and some kisses...
And then I was looking for the perfect light and the perfect bokeh so that they could have some of my signature "blurry background pics". You know where we found it?? In the doggie pen. I LOVE that the winery allows dogs, but seriously. See that blurry thing behind Rachel. That is the fence. These two were willing to do anything for great shots.
They made each other laugh...
They gave each other "noogies"...
They toasted...
They played...
They loved.
And, they celebrated a successful shoot with a picnic.
To Rachel and Peter, cheers to you! I am SOOOOO happy for you, and so happy that I get to "work" with you for your upcoming wedding. I hope you like the sneak peek of your engagement pictures -- many many more to come soon! XOXO ~Kris

Sara and Tom's Engagement
08.10.09

Before I blog this awesome engagement shoot, I should give a little update. We moved to Charlottesville on Thursday, closed on our new house Friday, photographed a great wedding back in PA on Saturday, and got reconnected to the Internet today. It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks, but we are starting to get settled and we absolutely love it here. I will blog more about Cville soon, but first and foremost, I have a LOT of shoots and weddings to share, starting with Sara and Tom's engagement session from a couple of weeks ago.
When I first met with Sara and Tom at Starbucks over coffee, I knew I was going to love working with them. They are so incredibly nice and easy going, not to mention totally adorable together! Sara is an MD in her final year of her OB-GYN residency, and she worked all night long the night before her big photo shoot. Well, you would never know that she only get a few hours of sleep before taking these photos. Just see for yourself!
We started the shoot on the campus of Bucknell. Sara and Tom were looking really good, and deceivingly well-rested.
The buildings on campus made for a really cool background, but what really makes this photo is the light coming into the stone walkway and of course the adorable couple.
These 2 were so into each other that I could just stand back and capture the "in-between moments" like this...
And this. I love when my direction ends up resulting in such emotional candids like these.
Some more exploring led us to this neat old tree...
And this clover-filled grass that I couldn't get enough of. I was so happy it wasn't freshly mowed! And even happier that Sara and Tom were willing to lay down in it.
Sara has a serious rock, so we had to do something fun to show it off.
After a quick outfit change, we headed into downtown Lewisburg and did some more. I love the whole series of them on the railroad tracks.
And I love the ones them running through the traffic even more. Sara has the best laugh ever!
Nothing says Lewisburg like the street lamps.
And nothing says Sara and Tom like this. Come next August, Sara will change her name to Dr. Guzick, and I cannot wait to be there to capture every minute of what I know will be an amazing day. Thanks Sara and Tom for such a fun shoot and can't wait to see you both again! Love, Kris

Megan and Brent's Engagement
07.29.09

I have been doing a lot of engagement sessions on college campuses lately, and this time it was for Megan and Brent at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, just blocks from my doorstep. SU is one of my favorite places to shoot at, and it's somewhere I will really miss when we move to Virginia next week.
Megan said she started following my blog after I took pictures of her adorable niece and nephew, so of course I was super excited when she asked me to do her engagement pictures. Megan and Brent met while attending SU, and Brent now works there, so it was the perfect spot for their shoot. I know that they've been waiting patiently to see this little sneak peek, and I have been so anxious to share. Enjoy!
I was loving the colors they chose for their first outfit. They were very Tiffany's-esque.
I think every girl should have a little black dress, and Megan definitely wears it well! Beautiful!!!
Since SU is so special to them, Megan and Brent wanted to make sure we incorporated the buildings into their photos. I heart this one.
And we couldn't leave out the pillars by the entrance.
Do I get to photograph some gorgeous couples or what!!! Hands down a future main website photo. They look like models!
Next it was time for shorts and t-shirts, so we could do some different things with the pictures....like laying in the grass...
And this! It's something I had never asked a couple to do before, and I'm so glad we tried it. So so so fun!!!
We had great backlight by the railroad tracks...
And AWESOME natural light in front of Seibert Hall.
I was loving the columns there. So sweet!
At the very end of the shoot, Megan and Brent put on their SU sweatshirts in 90 degree weather, and we did just a few shots in the stadium. What troopers! Megan and Brent, I had such a great time getting to know you both. It was such a fun shoot, and I hope you like these pictures as much as I do! Hugs! ~Kris

Jamie and Anthony's Engagement
07.24.09

My second engagement shoot of my double header PSU-weekend was for Jamie and Anthony. Jamie lives and works in Harrisburg, and Anthony is in his final year at Penn State, so they currently spend a lot of time on Route 322. They are planning their wedding for next June, and even though I am already booked on their wedding date, I am so flattered that they contacted me to do their engagement pictures before our move to Virginia. I will miss them, but hopefully I can do family pictures for them someday in the future!
Aren't they SOOOO cute together! Jamie and Anthony were really really natural in front of the camera, and they were super laid back. We just walked around campus and stopped in a bunch of places with good light.
In fact, the library had really good window light, so we had some fun in there for a few minutes.
Anthony MUST have some good pick-up lines! ;-)
Then went spent some time in the Alumni Gardens. LOVE it! I kept telling them they picked awesome shirt colors, which I think they'll realize even more after seeing this picture.
They did a little playing on the lawn in front of Old Main...
Then a little kissing by the green zodiac globe sculpture.
And once Anthony broke out the Penn State football jerseys...
The fun really began! I mentioned that Anthony should throw Jamie over his shoulder, and they totally ran with the idea resulting in a priceless series of images.
Another outfit change. Jamie, you are a knockout! And speaking of good light, wow. The sun was hitting a big white building behind my back, acting as an incredible natural reflector.
I mean, seriously, did these 2 practice beforehand or what?!?! I wasn't kidding when I said relaxed and natural. Holy hotness!
We got so many images, but I had to show a classic portrait since I do like to do those too!
And one for Old State. Jamie and Anthony, you guys are such rock stars! Thank you so much for asking me to do these special pictures for you guys -- I love how they turned out and can't wait for you to see the rest! Hugs! ~Kris

Missy and Jake's Engagement
07.23.09

I recently did 2 back-to-back engagement sessions at Penn State, and I had such an awesome time doing both! Today I'm going to blog the first session, and tomorrow I'll be blogging the second one. This blogging every day thing is pretty fun! Next week I have 5 more blogs in store too, including the big reveal of whether we're having a boy or girl coming on Monday (I am counting down the minutes!), followed by more engagement and lifestyle sessions. :-)
Ok, onto the engagement shoot...
Missy and Jake met at Penn State, and they now live in New Jersey. Actually, they are getting ready to close on their new home, so they are living out of suitcases and surrounded by moving boxes, just like me! They are planning a beautiful wedding in Selinsgrove for next May, and I am so excited to travel back up here for it. But first, I'm super excited to share a sneak peek of their fun engagement pictures.
We started bright and early (as in 8 am early) at the lion.
Missy and Jake then hopped off the lion and we did some shooting by the nearby trees. I think this was the 2nd frame I snapped, after which I realized this shoot was going to be really easy!
I love a good close up. What an adorable couple!
Penn State is an incredibly gorgeous campus, and nothing says Penn State like this tree-lined sidewalk.
Well, other than Old Main. It was so good that we started early, because we had the entire lawn to ourselves...
And that meant lots of room to run around and play. Oh, I should mention that Missy and Jake are doing green and purple as their wedding colors, hence the shirts. Such great colors!
I love this one in the ginormous tree...
Though I think I like this one even more. This is the EXACT balcony where Missy and Jake met. It was after a Penn State football game, and they were at a party there held by mutual friends.
I love when we can incorporate something really special like this into a shoot.
We finished our shoot downtown in the crowds of Arts Fest. Such a fun image!
And of course we had to do a Corner Room shot. We had a lot of onlookers for these pictures...
But really, how could you not look at this gorgeous couple! This is a definite favorite. The colors of Arts Fest are amazing in the background. Missy and Jake - thanks so much for waking up so early for your shoot. I had a blast, and I'm happy to know that you did too! Can't wait for your wedding in May! Hugs! ~Kris

Tara & Chad's Engagement
06.12.09

I recently photographed Tara and Chad's engagement session at Penn State, and it was definitely a happy day in Happy Valley. We are seriously blessed with the cutest, nicest, most photogenic couples ever -- I don't know how we get so lucky!
Tara was a Penn State cheerleader for 4 years, and she met Chad, who worked in radio, while doing an interview. She was only supposed to be there for 10 minutes, but Chad didn't let her sneak away so easily. How awesome that what was supposed to be 10 minutes will soon be a lifetime together!
Tara and Chad are planning a beautiful tented wedding for next June at the Priestley Savidge House in Northumberland. It will be our first time shooting there, and we are so excited!
You can't do a shoot at Penn State without sitting on the Lion.
We then found a good spot in front of the Nittany Lion Inn, so we did a few portraits there.
One of my favorites...yep, they are definitely photogenic.
And they definitely know how to laugh and have fun! It didn't take them long to warm up for the camera at all.
Heading back to the other side of campus, I thought Chad should carry Tara. We had awesome early morning light.
Tara spotted this cool tree, which none of us ever knew was there.
After a quick outfit change, we did a few pictures downtown...
And then we headed into the Alumni Gardens for a bunch more.
I was working the reflections on the water...
And Tara was just working the camera. I mean really, could she be any prettier?!?! I can't wait to photograph her in her wedding gown next June!
Love it! I was thinking of a way we could show off Tara's cool shoes...
Aren't they adorable!?! They, as in Tara and Chad, although her shoes are totally adorable too!
A final posed shot...(well, it was an engagement shoot, so I guess they're all somewhat posed, but I hope they look natural and unposed!)
And then some fun with Joe Pa! Tara and Chad, thank you for totally rocking this shoot, and for waking up at the crack of dawn for the good light! You are such an amazing couple, and Scott and I are so excited for your wedding next June! Hugs! Kristine

Adrienne and Fred's Engagement
05.08.09

I recently had the opportunity to do an engagement shoot for Adrienne and Fred, who are getting married in the Outer Banks in just 2 weeks! Adrienne contacted me after seeing one of her coworkers on my blog (thanks Ryan & Meg, and yay for blogging), and she asked about having family pictures done. She and Fred are blending two families and combined have 5 kids (she has 3; he has 2) between the ages of 6 and 11. Well, after looking through my blog more, she and Fred decided to do an engagement shoot to get some special shots of just the two of them, and then we'll be doing a family shoot this fall. I can't wait!
So Adrienne and Fred drove up from Virginia and met me at Fort Hunter Park in Harrisburg. I was immediately greeted with big smiles and a hug from Adrienne, and I knew it was going to be a great shoot. We had so much fun, and even though I won't be photographing their OBX wedding, I'm so excited to work with them again and to meet all the little ones!
I think Fred was a little nervous when we first started taking pictures...
But you would never know it. These two couldn't stop smiling at each other.
And it sure helped that Fred is a really funny guy! Adrienne loves to laugh, so she is marrying the perfect man.
Love this one....because not everyone can pull off the looking away from the camera and still have it look good. ;-)
There's that laughter again. So so cute!
I'm sure their kids will like seeing this one!
After a quick outfit change, we did a bunch of shots on the porch of the old mansion. I have so many that I love, but this one is for Fred. I love the way Adrienne is looking at him here.
And Adrienne, well, I just have to say that I hope your wedding photographer knows how lucky he/she is. You are beautiful and I can't wait to see your pictures!
We had to show off the bride-to-be, and then we had to show off the bling! Fred did an amazing job picking out that ring!
Adrienne and Fred then had some fun dancing together...
So I had to take them down in front of the water to get a silhouette. We had quite a dramatic sky that day.
And the landscape was gorgeous too.
I could have kept shooting and shooting....and blogging and blogging.
But I'll stop here for now. Adrienne and Fred, I had a blast doing this shoot, and I hope you like the little preview. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and have a wonderful honeymoon in Mexico! Hugs! ~Kristine

Nicole & Kris's Engagement
05.05.09

Last weekend I did an engagement session for Nicole and Kris -- our very first destination wedding couple! They are getting married on June 20th in New York's Finger Lakes Wine Country at the beautiful Esperanza Mansion. We have been to the Finger Lakes several times, and I have seen Esperanza in person, and wow is that place amazing! We will also be photographing their rehearsal dinner, which will be a sunset cruise on Keuka Lake. It is all going to be fabulous and we can't wait!
But back to their engagement session.... We started the shoot at their home in Mansfield, and I couldn't resist the canoe they had sitting in their yard.
Super photogenic couple + gorgeous light = very happy photographer!
We then ventured into downtown Wellsboro, and it was like the sidewalks cleared just for them.
Although they didn't start dating until college in 2001, Nicole and Kris actually went to high school together -- so the movie title "17 Again" on the marquis sign of the theatre was too cute!
One of my faves -- I love a couple that can laugh together.
From downtown we headed to the park and had some fun with the seesaws...
And the swings.
The backlight was awesome...
So they hopped off for some portraits. Nicole is going to be a gorgeous bride! I can't wait to get her in front of my camera again!
Our last location was a little park where Kris asked Nicole to marry him. I let them peek at this one on the back of my camera to show them how photogenic they really are! So so natural!
I heart this one. I think the sun setting between them, the signature Wellsboro lamp post, and the tree give it a really interesting composition.
This is the exact spot in which Kris proposed to Nicole last August, so of course we had to get some shots there!
Congratulations again Nicole and Kris! It was so nice to finally meet you both, and if it wasn't already obvious, we can't wait til your wedding! See you next month! ~Kristine

Jenelle & Jer's Engagement
04.27.09

I recently had the chance to do a really cool engagement session for Jenelle and Jer, who are getting married on August 2nd at the amazing Riverdale Manor in Lancaster. Scott and I can hardly wait for that, but first, I really don't know how I've waited a whole week to blog their engagement pics, because as I told Jenelle in an email, "I am in love with them!" :)
I had briefly met Jenelle and Jer at Kelly and Mike's wedding in December (thanks Kel for the referral!), so I knew they were awesome and we were going to have a lot of fun. We did the shoot at two very meaningful locations -- first in Dauphin at Jenelle's Grandfather's farm, and second in Camp Hill at the future home of the bride and groom-to-be. Obviously both locations hold a lot of sentimental value to these two, and the fact that both had such insane light was just the icing on the cake.
So here they are at Jenelle's Grandfather's farm. These two were up for anything which allowed me to be totally creative. Climb on giant woodpile!? Stand on broken glass?! Yeah, we were a perfect match.
The views of the Susquehanna River were breathtaking.
And inside one of the old barns, the light was a photographer's dream. Well, at least mine! Aren't they so adorable together!?!!
I haven't had that many opportunities to shoot in light like this...everything was dark except one spot where the light was shining in from the roof. And that sign was a total surprise too -- it's the initials of Jenelle's grandparents.
I could have stayed in that barn all day, especially with them giving me cute moments like this.
But outside the barn, there were some really great spots too. Love this one with the broken window.
And this one with the metal siding.
And this one in the big open field. Oh Jenelle, I'm so glad we opted for spring instead of winter!
Work it girlfriend. Jenelle is going to be a knockout bride!
Onto their future home in Camp Hill. Jenelle and Jer have completely gutted an old home -- we're talking down to the studs and moving walls -- and it is going to be so amazing when it's done in August (or sooner!).
This is how Jer looks most days. Jenelle got a little laugh at his expense.
The bling. Jer joked that he didn't know which one set him back more, the new kitchen or the ring! Gorgeous.
Jenelle and Jer, I had so much fun taking your engagement pics and getting to know you both better. I hope you like these pictures as much as I do, and I can't wait for you to see the rest! See you in August, and don't work too hard in the meantime! Hugs! Kris

Cori & Tyler's Engagement Session
03.19.09

Last Saturday, Scott and I (and our daughter Elsa!) did an engagement shoot for our good friends Tyler and Cori at Penn State. Scott and Tyler have known each other for almost their entire lives, as they grew up in the same small town (go T-Vegas!), and Tyler's older brother Nate is Scott's best friend. So how incredibly special that they chose us as their photographers.
To Cori and Tyler, thank you for asking us to capture these memories for you. We had such a blast hanging out, taking pictures, and catching up. We hope you enjoy the sneak peek and the slideshow too. We are so excited for your wedding this May -- partly because we know it's going to be fabulous, but mostly because we can't wait to hang out again! Lots of love! Kris, Scott, and Elsa
Cori and Tyler first met as undergrads at Penn State 12 years ago. This is the EXACT spot where they met, and this was the very first frame I took. I told them they had to do the whole "Nice to meet you" thing, and they were too funny shaking hands.
And this is the exact sidewalk on which they shared their first walk....and their best-worst conversation of their lives...about the weather. :-)
Finally, 8 years later though, they re-met in Hermosa Beach, California and had the conversation they were meant to have. The rest is history!
Cori is going to be a gorgeous bride! Their wedding will be in New Jersey at the amazing Stone House at Stirling Ridge
I was pretty far away from them to get this shot of Old Main, so I think I gave my famous instruction, "Ok, now just hang out." I don't know if they're playing "Rock, Paper, Scissors" here or what, but it's way cute!
Who knew we would basically have the campus to ourselves that day. I love Spring Break!
We did a few playful shots on the lawn...
And then we headed into the HUB, which was just flooded with natural light.
That made it a good spot for reading.
And a fantastic spot for portraits. Hellllllllllo hot stuff!
One of my favorites! These two are always making each other laugh. Their smiles are contagious.
A little art...
And then we were off to see the Lion.
Even though campus was empty, we managed to find a little traffic in downtown State College.
But it was just empty enough to get this shot of Tyler and Cori all alone by The Corner Room. I still can't believe it. We couldn't have planned it better.
We finished up with some shots amongst the traffic.
And they were charged with PDA....(kidding, Mom.)
Cori and Tyler, we will see you in May! Love you guys!
