Kristine Pringle Blog     About Kris
Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. Go Penn State! So, as Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places we love. To our super cool clients, Scott and I are truly honored that you chose us to capture your memories. We hope that you enjoy the sneak peek of your photos. To our prospective clients, hopefully this will give you a little taste of what it’s like to work with us, and the kind of images you can expect. Thanks for stopping by! ~Kristine **PS - to view exclusively weddings, engagement sessions, or lifestyle photography, use the "categories" link above.

Welcome to the World, Baby Chase
02.23.09

Over the weekend, I traveled down to Northern VA to meet and photograph baby Chase, the son of our good friends, Meghan and Ryan. Meg and I went to VA Tech together, and I have known her for over 10 years now. It was so great to see them, and as we reminisced about all the photos I took of our friends back in college, I then got to take their most precious photos yet. What an incredible honor.

Baby Chase was born on February 5th, making him just 16 days old for his first professional photoshoot. It couldn’t have gone better. He was the perfect little angel. And I’m sure you will agree when you see his pictures that he is beyond words adorable. To Meg and Ryan, thank you so much for asking me to do Chase’s newborn pictures. Scott and I are so happy for you, and we hope that you and your family & friends enjoy them and the slideshow too. XOXO ~Kris

Welcome little one...

And so totally in love with each other.

They were brave for taking Chase's diaper off and laying him on their WHITE bedding. But for this shot, totally worth the risk! ;-)

One of my faves. These were shot with our new 5D Mark II using 100% natural light.

Behind the Scenes
02.19.09

Scott and I take a LOT of pictures when we're shooting, and some of them always end up being "behind the scenes" images of each other getting a shot. There are times when I know I'm looking so unbelievably cool when taking a picture, and I know Scott is standing behind me to capture that memory. ;-) In all seriousness, I love having these pictures and they will definitely end up in a personal photo album someday. Hope you enjoy!

Last time I posted a "Behind the Scenes" blog I looked like this! Our daughter Elsa was due in just a few weeks.

I love this one of me holding Elsa at Rick & Beth's wedding last summer. We photographed their wedding with a lot of help from friends who volunteered to hold her, but at the end of the night, she just wanted her thumb and her Mommy. And her pretty pink dress had seen better days then too!

I don't have one of Scott holding Elsa at a wedding, but my cute hubby holding a bunch of roses might be the next best thing. Too bad they weren't for me! Babe, you are too cute here, even if you remind me of "The Bachelor" show. Will you accept this rose?

Okay, time for some "before and afters". I got this one of Scott as he prepared to work his silhouette magic.

And here is what resulted...

I had this groom out in front of his groomsmen for this series of the guys...

It's something I do often because I LOVE how it looks.

Same wedding...I stood back and let Scott capture a few moments of the bride's parents giving her away. He had the telephoto lens on, so I knew he'd get the better shots.
Pringle Photography

Great shot honey!
Pringle Photography

Love it!
Pringle Photography

As a wedding photographer, I have become quite skilled at walking backwards...

It's an absolute necessity for fun shots like this.

This is the infamous Kristine Pringle squat down. You will be asked to do this at your wedding...

It produces great portraits, especially because I am shorter than our grooms, and most of our brides too.
Selinsgrove Photography

In this instance, I told Scott I wanted to test the light inside the church foyer, and he automatically did the squat down. Haha! Really though, it was raining outside, so we were finding a good spot to shoot portraits of our gorgeous bride.
Selinsgrove Photography

I'd say it worked beautifully. I just shot a little more wide open to blur the checkered floor more.
Lewisburg Photography

I can just hear myself now, "I'm going to cross this stream real quick, so just hang out."
Lewisburg Photography

Beautiful! Randi and Dan, we can't wait for your wedding in May!
Lewisburg Photography

I had to end with this one of my friend Sylvia and I, which was taken when she was pregnant with Baby #1 (her adorable son Russell) two years ago.

Now she is pregnant with #2 and due in April.

And I will be doing another maternity session for her in about 2 weeks. So stayed tuned...

Wedding Inspiration: Cakes
02.16.09

While in a state of sugary bliss over the weekend, I picked out some cakes that I thought looked especially yummy for my next wedding inspiration blog. I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Weekend, and I hope these cakes will spark some ideas for our 2009 and 2010 brides who have yet to have their cake tasting appointments. Happy Monday! ~Kristine

Our couples have chosen the most amazing cakes! We've seen round...

And square...I was in love!

And even a different shape for each layer!

We've gotten a lot of compliments on this one from other brides-to-be. Beautiful!

We've photographed cakes with fresh flowers in between the layers...

And others that used rose petals.

We've photographed cakes with lots of color, like this one for an October wedding...

And this one for a wedding with a chocolate brown & green color scheme. It was the centerpiece of a table with a bunch of other desserts.

Our brides are definitely creative. Some have used cupcakes...

One of my faves! This arrangement was begging for a photo taken from above.

One of our brides even used Whoopie Pies -- in true Central Pennsylvania fashion!

Tyce is 1-Year Old!
02.11.09

A couple days ago, I met up with Becky, K.C., and their adorable baby boy Tyce for a lifestyle shoot at their gorgeous home. Tyce had just turned ONE about a week before the shoot, and his parents wanted to make sure they had this little slice of family history documented. But not just portraits -- moments. I always go into a shoot with the goal of capturing moments, and the natural portraits seem to happen almost effortlessly. I would never ask a child to say cheese, and I think that is exactly why Becky and K.C. hired me. :-)

To Becky and K.C., thank you for welcoming me into your home for an incredible shoot! I know we had to work a little for smiles, but just wait until you scroll down -- it really paid off! I hope you like the little sneak peek, and I can't wait for you to see them all! Thanks again! ~Kris

Meet adorable little Tyce. He gave me quite a few serious faces at the beginning of the shoot, and I absolutely love them! Especially with that gorgeous window light shining into those big blue eyes!
Central PA Baby Photographer

So stinkin cute!
Central PA Baby Photographer

Other than the one above, we hadn't yet seen a smile. As K.C. said, Tyce was all business that morning. I think he liked studying the camera...
Central PA Baby Photographer

So we went outside, and that seemed to work! Tyce didn't even mind the cold.
Central PA Baby Photographer

I loved the Penn State attire! And the wooded background in these will be perfect for hanging on their green walls.
Central PA Baby Photographer

While Tyce was getting changed into another outfit, I got a few pictures of their sweet dog, Moose. Love her little bandana!
Central PA Baby Photographer

And then it was time for some serious playing! This is one of my favorites -- Becky is actually running through their living room, and she must have been going fast to make Tyce's hair stand up like that!
Central PA Baby Photographer

I love the way Tyce is looking at his Mommy in this one.
Central PA Baby Photographer

And the way K.C. is looking at Tyce in this one.
Central PA Baby Photographer

I think Tyce officially forgot I was there for awhile, which is just what I wanted. He is having so much fun!
Central PA Baby Photographer

Another sweet smile for Mom. Precious!
Central PA Baby Photographer

And then...."Oh yeah, the camera lady is still here!" I remember taking this one and thinking, "Blogger!" ;-)
Central PA Baby Photographer

Thanks again Becky, K.C., and Tyce! I had a blast and can't wait to do it again!

Sherry   |   02.11.09   |   Wow I love them all. He is such a beautiful little boy and a beautiful family. Great Shoot Kris.
Jim Finkler   |   02.12.09   |   They're all great pictures--that first B&W of Becky and Tyce is the best IMHO: two people connected but one in motion and one stationary, with great contrasts.
Cindy Shaner   |   02.12.09   |   BEAUTIFUL!
janee   |   02.16.09   |   Awesome! He is adorable!!! I love the family Penn State pics!!! Kris...you do amazing work and you get to work with the cutest babies and little ones!!!
Kris Pringle   |   02.18.09   |   Thank you so much Sherry, Jim, Cindy, and Janee! I love hearing your feedback. And Janee, you are right, I do get to photograph the CUTEST little ones. You would think I was shooting for a modeling agency! :)

Baby Maggie: 9 Months
02.08.09

Last week I got to visit Baby Maggie for her 9-month session of her Baby's First Year plan. And I did something I've never done before -- photograph a baby taking a bath -- well, aside from my own daughter. I absolutely LOVE working with this family, because we just get each other. When I mentioned the bathtime idea, Addy (Maggie's Mom) was so excited. I was too, but I don't think I even imagined at the time just how cute the images would actually be.

To Addy and Mike, it's always so good to see you and the kids. When Avery started jumping up and down when he saw me at the door, my heart melted. I'm honored to be your family's photographer, and I hope you like your little sneak peek as much as I do. Talk to you soon! ~Kris

Here is gorgeous little Maggie. Yes, this was taken in the bathroom as she crawled towards the bathtub.
Central PA Baby Photography

Bathtime! So precious. Maggie loved her rubber duckies.
Central PA Baby Photography

And she LOVED the water.
Central PA Baby Photography

One of my favorite moments.
Central PA Baby Photography

Does it get any cuter??
Central PA Baby Photography

I wanted to show the previous image cropped this way too, because it really shows off Maggie's incredible greenish-blue eyes. And her eyelashes, which were still wet from her bath.
Central PA Baby Photography

I couldn't believe the poses I was getting!
Central PA Baby Photography

After bathtime, we did some casual family pictures. This one will definitely be going on our main website when it gets updated -- it makes me smile!
Central PA Baby Photography

Tickle tickle! I love these kids!
Central PA Baby Photography

We all loved Maggie's hair poking out from behind her ears.
Central PA Baby Photography

While Maggie was getting changed into her next outfit, I took a few pictures of her big brother, Avery. It just so happens that I got one of my favorite images ever. And yes, Avery has those gorgeous eyes too!
Central PA Baby Photography

Maggie's turn again. How adorable is her plaid dress!?!
Central PA Baby Photography

Thanks again Addy and Mike. I'll see you in a few months for your BIG 1-year old session, Maggie!

Kris Pringle   |   02.11.09   |   Thank you so much Addy and Mike -- for your blog comment and the sweet email you sent too. Crazy to think that I've been photographing your family for almost 2 years now. :-) Looking forward to lots more great shoots in the future. Thanks again!

Carrie: Just Because
02.05.09

As Carrie started asking her family members what they wanted for Christmas, they all said the same thing -- "Updated pictures of you." I think they all had Carrie's high school pictures hanging in their homes.

So when Carrie contacted me asking for some close-up framer's, I was super excited. And so was she. As I was leaving, she said, "Thanks Kris, I just finished my Christmas shopping!" Wow was I jealous!

Carrie - I know this isn't really a sneak peek since you already have all of your pictures, but I am so happy to know that everyone loved them. Thanks for making my job so easy Miss Photogenic! Hugs! Kris

Here are just a few of my favorites...

We did the entire shoot in her living room, using 100% natural light.
selinsgrove headshots

The dark background behind her is actually her deep red carpeting. I was just climbing all over her furniture to get that angle. ;-) Thanks again Carrie. It was a blast and you are gorgeous!

Wedding Inspiration: Flowers
02.03.09

The other day I was meeting with a bride, and as she looked through some of our images she said.... "Wow those are really pretty flowers!" Then I thought back to my own wedding planning days and remembered how overwhelming the whole planning process can be. I also thought about how many beautiful bouquets I've photographed over the years, and how they might give our brides-to-be some ideas for their upcoming weddings. And so this blog concept was born.

I LOVE photographing wedding details. Brides invest so much time (and money) picking out the perfect dress, shoes, cake, flowers, centerpieces, etc., and it's so fun for me to preserve those memories for them. I'm going to do some more wedding inspiration blogs over the next few weeks, but for now, here are a few of my favorite bouquets. Enjoy! ~Kris

Can't go wrong with shades of white...

I love the way the ribbon was wrapped on this bouquet, and I love the green berries.

I love the mix of flowers in this one. And those green berries again.

And I love the pinks in this one. I really like all the different details and textures going on in this picture.

Another favorite. Lovin the lime green. It's so summer-wedding-esque.

This was an April 2007 bride. I've gotten so many comments on this gorgeous bouquet.

I love all the different roses and what they represent...love, friendship, passion. Very cool.

These next two are from October weddings and they are beautiful!

Similar yet different, these two florists were very talented. I won't even attempt to name everything in there - just gorgeous!

This is one of the images on the back of our business card. I took it in the bride's bathroom because I heart turquoise walls. :-) And of course the flowers are so modern and stunning.

Just like white, red roses are classy and timeless. This was a June wedding...

And this one was December. This image was taken in the snow.

Can't forget the bridesmaids! I love how the color of the gown is incorporated in the flowers.

These were just a few of my favorites. Something with a little more subdued color palette...

And something very bright and vibrant.

I couldn't forget the flower girls either! I loved this purple hydrangea pomander.

And this basket of real roses, hydrangea, and toile fabric was super cute. It went with the gorgeous pink rose and blue hydrangea bridesmaid's bouquet shown above.
