Kristine Pringle Blog     About Kris
Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. Go Penn State! So, as Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places we love. To our super cool clients, Scott and I are truly honored that you chose us to capture your memories. We hope that you enjoy the sneak peek of your photos. To our prospective clients, hopefully this will give you a little taste of what it’s like to work with us, and the kind of images you can expect. Thanks for stopping by! ~Kristine **PS - to view exclusively weddings, engagement sessions, or lifestyle photography, use the "categories" link above.

Baby Brady: 14 days old
04.30.10

On April 4th -- Easter Sunday -- one of my best friends gave birth to her 2nd precious baby boy. Brady Reinaldo was welcomed by his proud parents Chris and Brad, and his darling big brother Alex. Alex just turned 2, so that makes Alex and Brady almost exactly 2 years apart. Their newborn session went so well, and I called Chris to tell her that I loved them just as much as the photos I took for them last fall. If you never got a chance to see those, or if you just can't get enough of their adorable family, you can see them by clicking HERE.

Okay, onto the newborn session. These are a few of my favorites as I am editing. I love them and hope that they do too!

Meet 14-day old Brady. My camera adored this perfect little munchin! He is beautiful!

While big brother Alex was napping, we got some Mommy hugs...

And Daddy kisses.

I love these images taken in their master bedroom.

So so sweet!
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

Brady's nursery=beautiful. But I wouldn't expect anything less from Chris and Brad.
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

Once Brady was getting really tired, we headed into their guest bedroom, which had some of the best natural lighting. It doesn't get any cuter! ...
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

...Oh wait, I lied, it does! This is the hat Brady was given at the hospital.
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

Newborn sessions are usually really relaxed and quiet, so I had to post this one to show how much fun we were having. Thankfully Brady slept right through all of our laughter.

Chris and Brad are the most amazing couple and parents.

Alright, back on track. ;-) One last shot with Brady...

And then it was time for Alex to get up from his nap. We started with this adorable little face...

And then we got this...

AND THIS! Perfection. My heart is swelling. Good job Alex!

To Chris and Brad, what can I say? I am sooooo happy for you guys. Brady and Alex are the sweetest and you have the perfect little family. Lots of love! ~Kris

Holy Spirit Hospital's Annual Volunteer Dinner
04.28.10

On Thursday April 22nd, I had the honor of photographing the Annual Volunteer Recognition Evening for Holy Spirit Health System. Back in Pennsylvania. I photographed this dinner last April, and even knowing I had moved to Virginia last August, they asked me to come back. What a compliment. Did I ever mention I am so blessed to do what I love??

The dinner was held at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill.

And the evening was dedicated to thanking the 408 volunteers who contributed more than 43,000 hours of service to Holy Spirit Hospital.

There is always lots of pre-dinner mingling...among the volunteers...

And among the administrators. I try to sneak around really quietly to capture candids like these...

Because if I am seen, this is usually the reaction I get. Too cute!

Dinner was served and it was delicious.

With a capital D. YUM!!!

After dinner there were some fantastic speeches...by Niles Benn, ESQ, Chair of Holy Spirit Health System...

And Joseph Torchia, M.D., Chief Medical Officer.

Their talks were so engaging and funny. Love this shot of the admin table.

Neckties even ended up on the floor. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect landing on the hardwood floor. Love it!

Then it was time for the presentation of awards. The volunteers came up one by one to accept their awards. Their pride showed in their smiles.

Sister Romaine Niemeyer, SCC, President and CEO of Holy Spirit, presented the President's Award to Dorothy Bricker for 5,000 hours of service.

Two amazing women!

The awards and hugs continued...

And at last, the King of Volunteering was crowned.

This is his pin recognizing his 27,500 hours of service.

Yes, Robert Owen is one selfless individual, and this picture was the perfect ending to a perfect evening.

Many thanks to Kristi and Darlene, and the rest of the administrators at Holy Spirit Health System, for asking me to be there once again! Hugs! ~Kristine

My Girls: Uncut
04.27.10

I didn't mean to get this picture of our daughters, and that's why I love it. Believe me, I'm not one to dress the girls up for photos, but I would normally dress them in something better than their worn out pajamas. Actually, I think all of Elsa's PJs were dirty, so who knows what she is wearing. All I know is that it doesn't match and that hat hasn't come off since we went to the Outer Banks in March.

My camera happened to be laying on the counter when the girls were especially happy, and I grabbed this shot without trying. One frame. This is the only one I took. I don't ask my girls (or my clients) to say cheese because that is the best way to get the worst smiles. Instead I click the shutter realllllly fast, just like I did the other morning.

I have a gazillion blogs to do, and more will be coming later this week, but for everyone who has asked to see an updated photo of the girls, here ya go! Emme is 4 months and Elsa will be 2 in May. There are so many more cute ones, and as soon as I'm done blogging all of my marathon weekend shoots, I will edit and post more. Promise!

I love these girls more than anything in the world!

Britton and Jason are Having a Baby!
04.26.10

Last Tuesday, I did a maternity session for an amazing couple, just one day before they celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary. It was a special day for them, with so much to be thankful for -- 3 years of marriage and a baby boy on the way -- and it was also a special day for me, as I feel like my business has come "full circle". My husband Scott and I photographed Britton and Jason's wedding on April 21, 2007 (when my business was just 3 months old), and they are the very first Pringle Photography bride and groom that I've worked with again as a family. All I can say is what an awesome feeling.

Since I didn't have a blog at the time that I photographed Britton and Jason's wedding 3 years ago, I told them I was going to share a few of their wedding photos before the pregnancy pictures. Aren't they the cutest couple!?!

Yep, that incredible bouquet on my website -- it was Britton's.

Another fun detail shot.

Britton and Jason are really good dancers...

And you can tell they have so much fun. Adorable!

Love it.
Richmond Virginia Wedding Photography

Britton is her Daddy's little girl, and their Father-Daughter dance was so so sweet.
Richmond Virginia Wedding Photography

As if the emotion wasn't already jumping out of the photos, Britton's brother decided to join them and had me crying behind my camera.
Charlottesville Virginia Wedding Photography

Their wedding was so beautiful...
Charlottesville Virginia Wedding Photography

Definitely the happiest day of their lives...
Charlottesville Virginia Wedding Photography

Until now. Britton was a gorgeous bride, but she is even more so as a mom-to-be.
Charlottesville Virginia Maternity Photography

She and Jason are so happy.
Charlottesville Virginia Maternity Photography

And they are going to be wonderful parents.

They are expecting a baby boy in June and they can't wait to meet him.
Charlottesville Virginia Maternity Photography

Have you ever seen such a cool tree?
Charlottesville Maternity Photography

We did their maternity session at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond, which is where they got married.
Charlottesville Maternity Photography

It is an amazing place for photos, but these two could make anywhere look good!
Charlottesville Maternity Photography

I mean, just look at her. She is stunning!
Richmond Maternity Photography

And she is just as beautiful on the inside.
Richmond Maternity Photography

Jason is a lucky man.
Richmond Virginia Maternity Photography

And they are so blessed to be welcoming a precious baby boy into the world in just a few weeks.
Richmond Virginia Maternity Photography

Britton and Jason, it was so wonderful to see and to "work" with you again. I am so happy for you, and I can't wait to meet your little bundle of joy. Congratulations and happy anniversary! Love, Kris

**Edited to add: Wow, I've received so many emails, blog comments, and Facebook posts/messages from friends and clients asking if they could purchase these. First of all, I'm beyond flattered, and second of all, yes you can, for a special "I'm a big softy price". Info on purchasing is now at the bottom of this post.** xoxo Kris

I love when I can support a good cause, but I need your help. I was recently asked to donate a few Pringle Photography landscapes to help raise funds for Concerns of Police Survivors, an organization that provides resources to assist in the rebuilding of the lives of surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The donated images will be framed and bid on at a silent auction to be held in Richmond, Virginia.

Since I have no idea which image or images to donate, I'm counting on my blog readers for some help. Just leave a comment with the image number you like best, and thanks a million in advance for your feedback! Thanks also to my multi-talented husband Scott -- though a physical therapist by day, he has some mad photo skills too. He took about half of these...

Heather   |   04.19.10   |   My vote is 13 of course! Although I really like number 1 too. They are all beautiful I don't know how you will choose. xoxo, Heather
Ashley   |   04.19.10   |   11. Reminds me of creeks in Titusville area. But Kris, honestly, they are all amazingly beautiful. You will bring in some dough for any of them!!!
Andrea   |   04.19.10   |   Wow, stunning work. Couldn't pick a favorite. But if I must for a contest I'd say 4 and 8.
Amanda   |   04.19.10   |   Of course I like 6 and 10. Number 1 is still one of my all time favs. But I think most people would bid on 8 and 11 (the b&w of the clouds over the mtns, and the leaves on the rocks of the stream) (i've looked at the numbers for too long and can't keep them straight!) Great work as always!
Ron N   |   04.19.10   |   1 and 3 are my fav..but only if Ned did NOT take them...I don't want him to think he is good at anything
Mom B.   |   04.19.10   |   Tough decision, they are all so great but since I have to narrow it down, I'll pick 5, 11 & 14. Ask Elsa, she has always had an eye for art since she was a baby. OXOX
Shawna   |   04.19.10   |   I cannot decide...It's late at night and I think I'm going cross-eyed looking at them all. I'd love all of them for my own home!
Jenelle N   |   04.20.10   |   Oh Kris! They are beautiful!! Number 1 is my absolute favorite, but I think people would bid on 8 and 13. Tough choice though... they are all so great!
Julie Rockey   |   04.20.10   |   #3 because it reminds me of the engagement session you did for us and the friendship that started between us that day. #6 because I like to think I'm visionary and this simply states "The sky is the limit". "Dream Big". WIth that plain blue sky I think it says "The world is your canvas, go and paint all over it". I think this image has mass reproduction potential for corporate offices across the country. No matter which you pick, I think the Concerns of Police Survivors will be honore
Pamela   |   04.20.10   |   WOW!! That is all I can say. They are the most amazing and I can not decide. I want them all. Are you selling any? I really need photos for my kids room if you want to help me out :)
Maryanne Jouvenal   |   04.20.10   |   Love #10 but I'm partial to the ocean. Great cause you're supporting!
Addison   |   04.20.10   |   Oh my gosh - 13 without a doubt! I live near the ocean in CA and see people doing that ALL the time and love it! 13, 13, 13!!
Paige   |   04.21.10   |   Numbers 3 and 8 - but, they are beautiful
Michelle   |   04.21.10   |   Love #1, #8 and #11. I think 8 will go really well to a diverse audience at the auction. Let me know what your 'softy' price is ;) ...#1 will go great in our new house and will give me an excuse to tell everybody about you!!
Barbara   |   04.23.10   |   All of the pictures are beautiful! My favorites are #2, #10 and #13.
Lyndell   |   04.26.10   |   Ok they are ALL wonderful and beautiful!!! but I love #5...
Kristi Ondo   |   04.26.10   |   I LOVE #8 and want it for our house...I know just the spot! =)
Heather T   |   05.02.10   |   Wow, I couldn't possibly choose one or two...they are all amazing.

You are my sunshine
04.14.10

As I drove away from their session, I kept thinking of that song. You are my sunshine. Not only because we had amazing sunshine on Saturday, but because that was the feeling I got around Sam and his parents, Paige and Mike. As in the way they think of their precious baby boy. The minute they welcomed me into their beautiful home and introduced me to their 7.5 month old son, Paige and Mike were glowing, and they were so eager to have me capture them as a family. And not just what they look like, but who they really are. Paige emailed me and said that she would "much rather have a great candid moment than a staged photo of everyone looking at the camera". I couldn't agree more!

Meet Paige and Mike's darling little sunshine, Sam. He spends his days crawling...

...playing with toys...
Charlottesville Baby Photographer

...and reading books.
Charlottesville Baby Photographer

These have to be my favorite "book images" ever. What a cutie pie! We all laughed right along with him.
Charlottesville Baby Photographer

We got a family shot by the front door since they have one of him as a newborn and this would be a good way to document his growth.
Charlottesville Baby Photographer

And then we headed outside for some fun in the sun. I love this one with Mommy...
Charlottesville Family Photographer

Especially because Sam pretty much duplicated the moment with Daddy. I can definitely see these two images hanging side by side.
Charlottesville Family Photographer

Mommy kisses. So so sweet! I love Sam's serious look here, but I definitely wanted to get more smiles...
Charlottesville Family Photographer

...and boy did we ever. Paige and Mike will look back at these images and be able to hear his little giggle.
Charlottesville Family Photographer

Like Paige, these are my favorite kind of images. The split second moments in time that show the real love and laughter. Priceless.
Charlottesville Family Photographer

Though who can resist a portrait like this!?! Those eyes! To Paige and Mike, I had such a great time meeting and photographing your adorable family! Sam is such a cutie, and I hope you love these as much as the Pringle house does. Hugs! ~Kris

Paige   |   04.14.10   |   I love the photos and was so happy to finally meet you! Thank you for a wonderful day and for the beautiful photographic documentation of the our family - the pictures will be looked at and loved for years to come. See you soon!
Candace Purdum   |   04.15.10   |   I just want to eat Sam up. He is such a cutie and I'm not saying that because I am his grandmother! You certainly caught the love that Paige and Michael feel for that little miracle guy. Thank you for wonderful photos.
Amanda   |   04.15.10   |   Beautifil candids as always. Love the actions too..esp. on first photo!
Jess   |   04.16.10   |   Wow!! What a beautiful family! Sam sure does know how to pose for the camera! Awesome pics Kris!
Addison   |   04.16.10   |   What a gorgeous baby! I love the last photo, the portrait! And like always - great job Kristine :-)

NOVA Marathon Weekend
04.10.10

** Edited to add: All 6 slots have been filled - so excited to share a ton of great images on the blog soon! **

I will be coming to Northern Virginia for a "marathon photography weekend" on April 24th and 25th, and I still have 2 slots remaining.

Here are the details...I typically photograph 5 or 6 families in one weekend at the location of their choice in the NOVA area (Lorton to Lovettsville), and there is NO travel fee. Everyone gets a 2 hour time slot, and the session fee is the normal $150 for up to 4 people.

I probably won't be back again until the fall, so if you are interested in booking one of the remaining slots, email me at:
pringlephotography@hotmail.com or call me at 434.872.3706. Slots will be filled on a first-come first-serve basis.

And since every blog is more fun with pictures, here are a few favorites from my last marathon weekend there in the fall. Happy weekend! ~Kris

Kris Pringle   |   04.12.10   |   Thanks Addison! I will definitely add some new photos of the girls soon. :-) And Kat, yes, you are on my list. I need to figure out when I'll be doing the fall weekend, so I'll email you.

Welcome to the World Harbor Dawn
04.05.10

A couple of weeks ago, I took a road trip to the Outer Banks to do a newborn photography session for one of my best friends. Baby Harbor was born on February 27th, so she is exactly 3 weeks old in these photos and oh SO pretty. I love how they turned out and can't wait to share a few favorites as I am editing. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite images from Amanda and Johnny's maternity session last November. They are such a beautiful couple...

And they made a beautiful baby girl with a beautiful name. They live at the beach, and Harbor means a place of safety, security, and comfort. Dawn is Amanda's middle name. So so pretty!

I've never seen Amanda's smile beam quite like this...
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

Yes, these two are the cutest new parents. To say that they will give Harbor the world would be an understatement.
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

I mean, just look at her nursery!
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

Johnny freehanded the saying above her crib. Love it!
Charlottesville Newborn Photographer

Amanda and Johnny have a gorgeous home, so I couldn't resist incorporating it in the photos. Someday when Harbor is older and jumping all over these couches, this image will remind them of how tiny she was.
Richmond Newborn Photographer

During a newborn session, there are always breaks for feedings and diaper changes. I was so happy that Amanda allowed me to capture such an intimate and fleeting moment between her and her new baby girl. It's truly one of my favorite pictures ever.
Richmond Newborn Photographer

Johnny was a pro at getting Harbor to sleep. Love her little yawn here.
Richmond Newborn Photographer

And a sleeping baby meant I could easily capture all her sweet little features...like her feet...
Richmond Newborn Photographer

...and her hands.
Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

I adore this one, and I know Amanda will too.
Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

Amanda and Johnny, you brought Harbor into a family filled with so much love.
Northern Virginia Newborn Photographer

And I couldn't be happier for you. Harbor is such a blessing, and I'm so thankful I had the chance to meet her as a newborn. Can't wait to see you in Cville soon! Love you all! ~K
