Kristine Pringle Blog     About Kris
Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. Go Penn State! So, as Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places we love. To our super cool clients, Scott and I are truly honored that you chose us to capture your memories. We hope that you enjoy the sneak peek of your photos. To our prospective clients, hopefully this will give you a little taste of what it’s like to work with us, and the kind of images you can expect. Thanks for stopping by! ~Kristine **PS - to view exclusively weddings, engagement sessions, or lifestyle photography, use the "categories" link above.

Happy 1st Birthday to Our Daughter Elsa
05.29.09

It's hard to believe that our baby girl is ONE year old today. Everyone said the time would fly, and they were right. It's so cliche, but it really does seem like she was born yesterday. Sometimes I look at her and I can't believe that there is practically a little girl standing before my eyes. Scott and I are so proud of her. She is so smart and sweet, a total camera ham (how lucky for us!), and of course we're biased, but we think she's pretty cute too. She has truly made our lives better than we could have ever imagined.

As I'm sure you could have guessed, we have taken a LOT of pictures over the past year, and I did my best to pick out a favorite from each of her first 12 months. I'm hoping to take some more pictures this weekend, so I'll post a slideshow once I have her first year pictures completed. I hope you all enjoy these!

Newborn -- This is Elsa just a few days after coming home from the hospital. She was so tiny...her little arm only as long as Scott's fingers.

1 month -- Actually this was at 5 weeks when she started smiling, but we'll count it anyway. It's one of my favorites.

2 months -- Elsa started sucking her thumb as soon as I took off those little mittens to prevent her from scratching her face. I think it's so precious.

3 months -- She was already giving us so many silly faces!

4 months -- Elsa's baptism. A very special day for our family.

5 months -- A Halloween costume gone wrong. ;-) I ordered it online in a hurry, and it wasn't nearly as cute as what they showed. Oh well - we have funny pictures now!

6 months -- Let the teething begin!

7 months -- Elsa's first Christmas. Go Steelers!

8 months -- How could I not blog this one again?!? Our little camera ham with our new 5D Mark II.

9 months -- Elsa's eyes keep getting bluer every day.

10 months -- Her first Easter. I have a gazillion favorites from this day.

11 months -- Elsa loves swings and she loves being thrown in the air. I think she's gonna like roller coasters!

12 months -- We think she'll be walking any day now.

We celebrated Elsa's birthday the past 2 weekends, and she had fun eating cake...

And opening all her presents!

Everything was a hat -- haha! So glad she got some cute bathing suits because...

She absolutely loved going swimming for the first time.

We love you babydoll!

You're our little princess and our Bundle Bee.

And no question the love of our lives. Happy 1st Birthday! Love, Mommy and Daddy

Eight year old Olivia
05.27.09

Olivia recently made her first communion, and her mom Sherri wanted some outdoor pictures of her wearing her beautiful dress and veil. I had done senior pictures for Olivia's older brother last fall, and I couldn't wait for Olivia to have some great shots of her own. I suggested bringing along a second outfit, which she did, so now Olivia's parents have the best of both worlds -- dressy and casual. I can't wait to share them, so here they are!

Olivia is such a beautiful little girl. We did some shots with her veil on first, since she said she "didn't really like it". ;)

Although I have a feeling that someday when she is a bride, she is going to LOVE having these photos. Would you just look at those eyes?!?! Good thing she has an older brother to help keep all the boys away!

So so sweet. Olivia grabbed her necklace, and I said, "Keep your hand right there." She really was a natural in front of the camera.

Isn't her dress gorgeous!? I'm so glad I could capture this very special occasion for Olivia's family...

Truth be told though, Olivia couldn't wait to get into her casual everyday clothes. So so cute!

Sherri, you should submit these to a modeling agency. Stunning!

Love the pose! I could have photographed her all day.

And of course we had to get some of her wearing her favorite hat. Olivia, you definitely wear it well! Thanks again Sherri and Dale for the opportunity to photograph both of your kids -- they are so sweet!

Welcome to the World Sierra!
05.21.09

If you've read my blog before, then you may remember Sylvia. She and her husband Bill are two of our closest friends, and I'm always thrilled when they ask me to do family photos for them. Well, now their family is complete, because their adorable 2-year old son Russell recently became a big brother to the most perfect little angel, Sierra Catherine.

This is what Sylvia looked like in early March -- gorgeous, as always.

And here she is now, with her brand new baby girl Sierra.

She is so beautiful, and so is her little hat, which Sylvia knitted for her.

How could I resist those little newborn arm rolls??

One of my favorites with Mom...

And a favorite with Dad. It brings tears to my eyes.

Bill and Sylvia are two of the most amazing parents I've met. I love this one with those blue peepers looking right at the camera.

Sylvia thinks Sierra looks exactly like her Dad, but I see a little of both of them in her. Either way, she is completely adorable, just like her big brother, Russell.

Speaking of Russell, he is totally smitten with Sierra and loves to give her kisses. I'm so happy I got this shot for them.

Sylv and Bill, congratulations again! You are so blessed, and Sierra is so lucky to have been born into such a wonderful family filled with so much love. Can't wait to see her (and all of you) again soon! Hope you like the pics! Love, Kris

Katie & Jeff's Wedding
05.19.09

On Saturday May 9th, Scott and I photographed Katie and Jeff's wedding. The ceremony took place at Keithan Gardens in Sunbury (and what a perfect day it was for an outdoor ceremony!), and the reception followed at The Elks Lodge in Danville.

I first met with Katie and Jeff last fall, and they said they were looking for photographers who would "capture the moment". I remember thinking to myself, well, we're the perfect match. I love doing portraits, but more than that, I love (LOVE!) stopping moments in time with my camera. Weddings are usually a big blur, and there are so many perfect moments that the bride and groom probably wouldn't even remembering happening if they weren't documented in a photograph.

We started the day at Katie and Jeff's home, where the girls were having fun getting ready and finishing Katie's hair.

Her dress was absolutely stunning -- just wait til you see her in it!

Onto the outdoor ceremony at Keithan Gardens. There were lots of smiles and laughter...

Some happy tears...

And moments of pure joy. Totally totally perfect. Scott caught this image just after they were introduced as husband and wife.

Then it was time for portraits.

Their wedding party was awesome, and the two little ring bearers were adorable!

See what I mean about the dress! Katie, you are stunning!

Love it! You guys are so fabulous, and you definitely knew what you were doing when you picked 5/9 as a wedding date! I love how the tunnel of azaleas turned out in the photos! (And Jeff, I photoshopped all the pollen off your jacket - haha!)

I can already see a two-page panorama in their wedding album.

Onto the reception! Everyone was ready to party.

Seconds after being introduced, I caught one of those somewhat "lucky" shots. Jeff and Katie were totally glowing, but what makes this photo is the lens flare created by someone's flash going off, and of course the faces of their wedding party in the background.

After the introductions, there was a hilarious toast by Jeff's brother and best man...

And then it was time for the first dance.

Totally adorable! Katie has the best smile!

We floated around during dinner and took pictures that I'm sure no one even knew we were taking. ;-)

Then the dancing began, and their guests were giving us a lot of great photo ops!

And of course so were the newlyweds.

I could have picked a bunch of shots of the two of them to blog -- there are so many that they are going to love!

Katie and Jeff, thank you for asking us to photograph your wedding, and for being so fun to work with! We hope you like this little preview as much as we do, and we can't wait for you to see the rest -- I wanted to blog them ALL! Congratulations again, and we wish you all the happiness in the world! With love and appreciation ~Kris & Scott

Blessed...Again!
05.14.09

Scott and I are thrilled to announce that we are expecting our second child! Surprised?!?! Yes, we were too, but talk about the best surprise ever. It took us so long to get pregnant with our daughter Elsa, so this news is such a blessing from God. I am about 10 weeks along and due on December 13th. We couldn't have asked for better timing, since I'll be on maternity leave during the winter, which is my slow time for photography anyway.

We had our first ultrasound a couple of weeks ago, and of course it was love it first sight. We will definitely be finding out what we're having in a few months, so stay tuned to the blog for updates.

I absolutely love being pregnant, although I'm not sure I'm looking forward to looking like a planet again at 39 weeks...(Wow, I can't believe I actually blogged this! Scott will be proud of me!)

But obviously the reward makes it all worth it. Becoming a Mom is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I know I haven't posted pictures of Elsa recently, but not to worry. She is turning ONE on May 29th and I will be doing a big blog of her first year, and a slideshow too! I know she is going to be a great big sister.

To see a slideshow of my first pregnancy, click HERE and make sure your volume is turned up. Thanks to everyone who has already offered their congratulations and support. Love, Kris, Scott, and Elsa

Kindle & Jerry's Wedding
05.12.09

On Saturday May 2nd, Scott and I photographed an awesome wedding for an awesome couple. Kindle and Jerry live just minutes from Manhattan, but they got married right here in Central PA since this is where Jerry's family lives. The wedding was held at Sharon Lutheran Church in Selinsgrove, and the reception was at Spyglass Ridge Winery in Sunbury. The whole day was perfect -- we even lucked out with gorgeous weather despite there being rain in the forecast. Okay, onto some photos!

I started the day with some candid getting ready shots of Kindle and all the girls at their hotel. Here Kindle's Mom is putting on her necklace, which she made for Kindle along with her veil. That's serious talent!

And then it was time for a bunch of pre-ceremony portraits. I normally don't have the space to show any of these, but I couldn't resist this one of Kindle and her matron of honor. Kindle and all her expressions are just darling!

A quick glimpse into the ceremony...Scott got this shot through one of the doors of the sanctuary.

Love this one! I think Kindle is winking at her future in-laws.

After the ceremony, we headed to the winery for portraits.

And Kindle and Jerry were up for anything. This is a sort of "behind the scenes" shot, but I had to post it because it makes me smile. Kindle (and her cool bridesmaids) were willing to jump over ditches and walk through soggy fields to get to the spot we wanted to do pictures in.

Which was here, with the pond and mountains.

One of my favorites.

A modern way to show off the bouquet...

And the rings.

Of course I had to show a close up of the rings, because Jerry got Kindle a beautiful and rare blue diamond.

Then it was time for Kindle and Jerry to join the party...

Upon heading inside, we got special permission to go into the room with the stainless steel wine vats, so we HAD to do just one more photo...(which really means like five more)...but Kindle and Jerry didn't seem to mind.

Their guests were enjoying quite the cocktail hour...

And we had fun capturing all the different conversations and laughter. Here Jerry's parents are laughing with the best man.

The first dance.

These two were giving us so much to work with! ;-)

Love this moment between Kindle and her Dad. Even though there weren't formal parent dances, I'm so happy that there was an impromptu one because we got so many great shots.

And then it was time for everyone to tear up the dance floor.

Kindle and Jerry, thank you and congratulations again! We hope you had a fabulous honeymoon in Aruba, and we hope these pictures are a good welcome home present! We had so much fun photographing your wedding. Thank you for asking us to be there to preserve all the memories! Hugs! ~Kris & Scott

Amanda   |   05.12.09   |   Blue diamond? Sign me up - it's beautiful! Love the pic Scott shot through the door of the sanctuary! Great angle.

Ladies, if you are looking at this site for a potential photographer, Kris and Scott will give you amazing photos and you will not get tired of them trailing you around all day! They are just wonderful!
Nicole (1 of the bridesmaids)   |   05.15.09   |   Kris, These pictures are fabulous! In my multiple outings as a bridesmaid, I've never had as much fun with a photgrapher as I did that day. When I get married (I need to find the groom 1st), I'll be considering flying You, Scott + Family out to San Francisco.
Grace (the m.o.h.)   |   05.17.09   |   Kris & Scott, the photos are wonderful. So many great moments captured. Can't wait to see the rest.
Kris & Scott Pringle   |   05.19.09   |   Wow, thanks so much girls! Kindle -- you are such a sweetheart, and we're so glad you love the photos. Nicole -- you wouldn't have to twist our arms for that! Definitely look us up when you find the one! And Grace, I can't wait for you to see the rest either! I'm already finding a ton more "should have blogged" pictures as I'm editing.

Adrienne and Fred's Engagement
05.08.09

I recently had the opportunity to do an engagement shoot for Adrienne and Fred, who are getting married in the Outer Banks in just 2 weeks! Adrienne contacted me after seeing one of her coworkers on my blog (thanks Ryan & Meg, and yay for blogging), and she asked about having family pictures done. She and Fred are blending two families and combined have 5 kids (she has 3; he has 2) between the ages of 6 and 11. Well, after looking through my blog more, she and Fred decided to do an engagement shoot to get some special shots of just the two of them, and then we'll be doing a family shoot this fall. I can't wait!

So Adrienne and Fred drove up from Virginia and met me at Fort Hunter Park in Harrisburg. I was immediately greeted with big smiles and a hug from Adrienne, and I knew it was going to be a great shoot. We had so much fun, and even though I won't be photographing their OBX wedding, I'm so excited to work with them again and to meet all the little ones!

I think Fred was a little nervous when we first started taking pictures...

But you would never know it. These two couldn't stop smiling at each other.

And it sure helped that Fred is a really funny guy! Adrienne loves to laugh, so she is marrying the perfect man.

Love this one....because not everyone can pull off the looking away from the camera and still have it look good. ;-)

There's that laughter again. So so cute!

I'm sure their kids will like seeing this one!

After a quick outfit change, we did a bunch of shots on the porch of the old mansion. I have so many that I love, but this one is for Fred. I love the way Adrienne is looking at him here.

And Adrienne, well, I just have to say that I hope your wedding photographer knows how lucky he/she is. You are beautiful and I can't wait to see your pictures!

We had to show off the bride-to-be, and then we had to show off the bling! Fred did an amazing job picking out that ring!

Adrienne and Fred then had some fun dancing together...

So I had to take them down in front of the water to get a silhouette. We had quite a dramatic sky that day.

And the landscape was gorgeous too.

I could have kept shooting and shooting....and blogging and blogging.

But I'll stop here for now. Adrienne and Fred, I had a blast doing this shoot, and I hope you like the little preview. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, and have a wonderful honeymoon in Mexico! Hugs! ~Kristine

Nicole & Kris's Engagement
05.05.09

Last weekend I did an engagement session for Nicole and Kris -- our very first destination wedding couple! They are getting married on June 20th in New York's Finger Lakes Wine Country at the beautiful Esperanza Mansion. We have been to the Finger Lakes several times, and I have seen Esperanza in person, and wow is that place amazing! We will also be photographing their rehearsal dinner, which will be a sunset cruise on Keuka Lake. It is all going to be fabulous and we can't wait!

But back to their engagement session.... We started the shoot at their home in Mansfield, and I couldn't resist the canoe they had sitting in their yard.

Super photogenic couple + gorgeous light = very happy photographer!

We then ventured into downtown Wellsboro, and it was like the sidewalks cleared just for them.

Although they didn't start dating until college in 2001, Nicole and Kris actually went to high school together -- so the movie title "17 Again" on the marquis sign of the theatre was too cute!

One of my faves -- I love a couple that can laugh together.

From downtown we headed to the park and had some fun with the seesaws...

And the swings.

The backlight was awesome...

So they hopped off for some portraits. Nicole is going to be a gorgeous bride! I can't wait to get her in front of my camera again!

Our last location was a little park where Kris asked Nicole to marry him. I let them peek at this one on the back of my camera to show them how photogenic they really are! So so natural!

I heart this one. I think the sun setting between them, the signature Wellsboro lamp post, and the tree give it a really interesting composition.

This is the exact spot in which Kris proposed to Nicole last August, so of course we had to get some shots there!

Congratulations again Nicole and Kris! It was so nice to finally meet you both, and if it wasn't already obvious, we can't wait til your wedding! See you next month! ~Kristine
