Hi there! Welcome to my blog. Other than photography, writing has always been a passion of mine. I regularly keep a journal, I'm known for my extra long emails, and yes, I even wrote a dissertation. Go Penn State! So, as Pringle Photography began to grow, it seemed only natural to retire the paper journal and begin this online adventure. I will use this site for posting pictures and stories from weddings and other photo shoots, and also for sharing personal pictures of the people and places we love. | Happy 2nd Birthday to Our Daughter Elsa |

Our older daughter Elsa turned 2 over the weekend, and we had the best time celebrating with her and our family and friends. Two years has flown by, and it has by far been the best (and busiest!) two years of our lives.
It's hard to believe in the blink of an eye we went from this...
To this. This photo was taken at Elsa's party in Pennsylvania 2 weeks ago.
Many thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Baker for making Elsa's day. All she wanted was her birthday cake and candles. :)
This photo was taken on Elsa's actual birthday, Saturday May 29th. I sometimes try to sit her down to capture some "relaxed portraits" of her...
But my favorites are always of Elsa being Elsa. She had the best time at her party.
She loved that she got more cake and candles...
And playing in the sprinkler was truly the icing on the cake.
She loved running around with her best friend, Alex.
And I could have taken her picture all day long. I don't know who had more fun - me or her??

| An Update on Julie's Battle with Breast Cancer |

If you follow my blog, then I'm sure you remember Julie Rockey, one of my 2008 brides and now friends who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer -- at the young age of 30. I first posted about her diagnosis 2 months ago (to see that post click HERE), and I promised I would post an update for everyone, so here we go. Be prepared to smile.
Julie is currently going through chemo, and she expected to complete this milestone on July 12th. YAY!!! Doesn't she look so adorable in her wig?!?!
She asked me if we could get a few pictures with her favorite little person -- her nephew, Chase. What an amazing Aunt she is! Chase just loves his "Aunt Juicy".
Julie's husband Clint volunteers for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Julie recently mentioned this quote on her blog. It was too perfect for this photo so I couldn't help but repeat it...."One hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in my bank account, nor what my clothes looked like. But the world may be a little better because I was important in the life of a child."
Julie knows I'm doing this blog, and she asked me to remind everyone that laughter is the best medicine.
Yep, we were having a good time. Julie's positive attitude is so contagious.
She and Clint have such a strong faith, and Julie truly believes that "God gave me breast cancer so that I could be a positive force in other people's lives".
In spite of everything they have going on, they don't let themselves have a bad day. They deal with their troubles for 5 minutes and figure out how to turn the lemons into sweet lemonade.
They are such an inspiring couple and I loved spending a morning with them. I walked away a better person.

| Missy and Jake's Wedding |

On Saturday May 1st, I photographed the amazing wedding of Missy and Jake. The ceremony was held at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, and the reception followed at Spyglass Ridge Winery. Ever since I first met with Missy and Jake over coffee at Starbucks, I couldn't wait for their wedding. They are a fun, smart, and beautiful couple, and so so perfect for each other! They just returned from what I'm sure was an awesome honeymoon in Fiji, and I'm so excited to welcome them home with this sneak peek of their wedding photos. Enjoy!
I started the day with the soon-to-be Mrs. McCabe in her hotel room as she was getting ready.
Missy had the most gorgeous wedding dress.

We headed over to Keithan Gardens for some portraits. I heart this one. It's my favorite of the day.
The azaleas were in full bloom and it was a photographer's dream.
What color! It doesn't get any prettier!
Of course it helps when you're photographing a couple like Missy and Jake. :)
I had a blast photographing their wedding party.
And I'm pretty sure they had a blast too.
But hey, everything is more fun when you're wearing purple socks, right!?!
Time to go inside for the reception.

Missy's maid of honor gave a really funny toast.
And so did the best man. Here he is asking Missy about Jake's infamous "pick up line". Her answer...While they were attending Penn State, Jake came up to her at a party and said, "Can I challenge you to a push-up contest?" The rest is history.

| One Week Old Wesley |

I have been doing a lot of newborn sessions lately, and little Wesley is the youngest one yet. Just 7 days old. Sigh. He is soooooooo precious and he has the most adorable hair. His parents Tiffany and Travis were referred to me by another client (thanks Paige and Mike!), and I just loved working with them. I could tell that they were so excited about their pictures, and well, so am I. Here are a few favorites, though if I had the time I could blog the entire session. I love them that much.
Did I mention adorable hair?!! Wes is such a cutie! We started the session with some awake shots, and I was able to capture all his newborn expressions....
Like his yawns and even a sneeze as seen here. Darling.
Love this one of Wes with his beautiful Mommy. I'm amazed at his 1-week old eye contact. Impressive!
Soon it was off to sleepy land in Daddy's arms...
And then we were able to get so many fun images. Travis plays soccer, so this one is for him. Way too cute.
Couldn't resist those tiny feet with the soccer ball.
I think Wes set a record for number of times moved while sleeping during a newborn session. :-) We started with one of him curled up on a fun, colorful blanket.
And then we moved him to his little chair. Yes, that is a white tie that Tiffany and Travis picked up at the mall. This one makes me smile. Love it!
Then it was off to much larger furniture. This is one of my favorites of the favorites because it shows just how tiny he is.

And this is a basket that was handmade by a good friend of Tiffany's.
As if things weren't going well already, we were even able to get a shot of Wes sleeping with his big brother, Hunter. So so sweet.
What a beautiful baby and family.

| Oh how the years go by... |

I have been photographing Abby since she was a year old, and now she is 5. Oh how the years go by. Too fast. This was our 6th photo shoot -- (we have done one every year around her birthday in May and one time at Christmas) -- and I can't even begin to tell you how much I love photographing this beautiful little girl. I used to work with her mommy, Lyndell, and when I was back in PA 2 weeks ago for a corporate event, I was able to squeeze her in for a session.
Anyway, I absolutely adored Abby's 4-year old pictures (you can see those by clicking HERE). One of my good friends who is a photographer in North Carolina even told me it was her favorite session of mine EVER. And while that is such a compliment, I was a little scared I wouldn't be able to "top" them for her 5-year old photos. Well, I would say that blogging 17 (yes 17!) favorites means I pretty much love them. Yep, Abby gave me another favorite session, and hopefully her mommy will agree. Enjoy!
According to Lyndell, Abby was super excited to see me. She was also excited for her picture day, and this is the first frame I took.
She was so cute prancing all around for my camera.
The shoot started a little more "posed", and though these are still adorable and must-have kind of shots during any session...
...it was only about 10 minutes into the shoot that the headband came off and Abby became Abby. These are the serious model looks that only Abby can pull off. I mean seriously, she needs an agent.
I'm determined to find her one.
Every year we've been able to get some images of Abby with some flowers, so when we saw these beautiful azaleas, we had to stop.
You can't have Abby photos without a few silly ones! After all, these pictures aren't just about what she looks like, but who she is and her darling personality.
Ahhh, this is what I wanted.
Abby loves her Mommy and I love this picture of them hugging.
Love the smiling version too. I didn't ask her to smile here - it just popped out as I watched the moment happen and stood in complete silence.
Abby got changed into her pretty pink dress and thought it would be fun to climb trees.
I didn't object. This is a top 5 for me. Love it.

| Happy Mother's Day Mom! |

I am such a lucky Mom. God has blessed me with two healthy, happy, beautiful daughters, and I am completely in awe of them. Emme is 5 months...
...And Elsa will be 2 on May 29th. The moment I became a Mom was the happiest moment of my life, and I am trying to savor each and every day. This is just one of the many things I've learned from my Mom, the woman I owe the world but will never have to repay.
The woman who still comes over to take care of me when I'm sick, who brings my dirty laundry home so she doesn't "waste quality time" doing it while at my house, and who sends me home from a visit to her house with pre-cooked gourmet meals. My mom is the woman who can make her granddaughters laugh hysterically and who can so easily calm them when they're crying. She is also the woman who enjoys reading her daughter's blog, so I thought it would be nice to publicly thank her for being so amazing. Mom, thank you for always letting me know just how loved I am in only the ways that you know how. Thank you for never thinking of yourself first, for always having the time to help me with something, and for being the best Mom and Grammie ever! I love you, and so do Elsa and Emme! Happy Mother's Day!

| Sweet Little Sadie: 2 Months |

A couple weeks ago, Sadie's mom Carrie emailed me and said, "Sadie is 8 weeks old and we only have ONE family photo -- we need your help." How happy I was to come to the rescue. I had never met this family before, but they were referred to me by friends, and once I met them I felt as if they were friends of mine too. As if I had known them for years.
Carrie and Spencer and the cutest first-time parents, and their 2-month old daughter Sadie is cute beyond words. I was honored to take their first professional photos and I hope they like them as much as I do.
I showed up when Sadie was getting dressed for a few outdoor photos, and this is what I got. A beautiful, smiley baby on her changing table. What a sweetheart!
We headed into their backyard for a few candids...
..and I love the results. Have you heard that babies imitate faces??
Yep! They do. These 2 belong framed side by side.
Back inside...we headed to the master bedroom to get some family shots. This is one of my faves. Definitely a modern portrait.
Their first "baby" Madison was so good for the camera. But hey, she's a golden, so of course she was! :-)

Since Sadie was so happy, I told Carrie and Spencer to love on her as if I wasn't there.
They did an amazing job.
These are the kind of images I always hope I can get. So real. So emotional...
So so sweet. I hope they have lots of wall space in their new home in Hawaii! (Yes they are moving there next month - lucky!!!)

| Baby Katie: 17 days old |

I recently had the chance to photograph yet another brand new baby, and oh my goodness, what a little angel! Katie was born to her proud parents Cara and Danny on April 8th, and she is just beautiful. She was also the perfect little model for her pictures. Cara was concerned that we wouldn't be able to get her to sleep for the photos, but I told her not to worry. I had a few tricks we could use and thankfully they worked! :-) Here are a few of my favorites. Enjoy!
Cara and Danny wanted to be in the photos, but they wanted their sweet baby girl to be "the focus". So that is exactly what we did. Love it!
This is one of my new "props" for newborns. I told you she was perfect.
